Consider this:
How you think determines how you feel.
How you feel determines how you act.
How you act determines what happens to you... good or bad.
The one and only thing you have control over is your thoughts. You cannot think two thoughts at the same time. If I say "Purple Dinosaur", right at that moment you cannot help but think of it and nothing else.
You must choose (yes, I said choose) your thoughts as you would items you eat. Your body probably likes things that are not good for it, sweets and fatty foods rather than fresh vegetables, but what must you feed on to be a champion? A strong body requires good fuel. Consider your thoughts and feelings to be fuel for your mind. Make no mistake you are competing and you are in a race. A race for success. To not compete, to not try, is to lose the race. If you do not decide on what your life will be, then others will surely decide for you. You have the menu. It's in your hands, place your order.
Like attracts like. Think of everything as a magnet. You attract to you what you think and feel. So if you want success, you MUST think of things that make you feel good, powerful, in control and successful.
This is where the laws of attraction and the effect of your attitude take place. To be a positive person and to expect good things are essential and to take action is critical to success.
So, where do you start? You start by what you put into your mind.
Reading books. You need to associate yourself with people who have done great things. When you read books written by those who have what you have, who have been where you are and tell you how they did it, it inspires you. Their success rubs off on you. It's been said, if you could play basketball with Michael Jordan or golf with Tiger Woods, you would vastly improve you basketball or golf skills. Success is contagious. You just need to expose yourself to it.
Listening to Audios. This and watching videos are the same as reading books. Hate to read? Well, here is your solution. Drive to a job? Instead of spending your time listening to Elton John, Toby Keith, Nickelback, or whoever, why don't you spend that time feeding your mind? You're stuck in your car, so you might as well make it a university on wheels and feed your mind while you're in traffic. Here is what's going to happen. You're going to change. If you run, do sit-ups or push-ups, you change. You look better. You feel better. Same here. People will notice. Your outlook will change. Success will become automatic for you. You will instinctively make the right decisions in everything you do.
Lastly, Notice And Give Appreciation To Everything You Have.
Are you where you want to be? Of course not. Nothing wrong with you. If you're not growing, you're dying. You need desire in your life. So, instead of focusing on what you do not have, focus on every aspect of what you DO have. You already have so much more than nearly everyone on the planet if you are reading this. Give thanks for your health. Give thanks for your family, for your home, your car, your spouse, your children, and yes, even you're job that you despise.
You will find you will be given more as you show appreciation over what you have been given. If you are a parent, you know exactly what I mean by this. So, I'll suggest this. Make a list, right now, of 100 things you are honestly, earnestly, appreciative of. Go ahead, make that list...right now.
If you followed instructions and you have that list, then proceed. If you haven't done it, then ask yourself why. Is this maybe something that holds you up?
Have your list? Good. Now, read each item, out loud with feeling.
I'm going to assume you've done this now. If that's the case, it's impossible that you do not feel better. Guess what? You are now far more in line to have success in ALL areas of your life, right this moment than you were before.
That means in business too. Yes, this DOES translate to dollars in your bank account!
Remember, it's these kinds of things that everyone who is successful does. In fact, they think about these things all day long. That's why, they expect success! It's automatic for them and it can be for you too!
It's YOUR Time Now!

The Power of the Mind
By Adora Ganir
How many times have you fabricated an alibi that you are sick just to avoid attending a party, or a meeting or even going to the office? Did you not experience in one or more occasions feeling sick afterwards? That's the power of the mind working against you.
There were times in my life when I was so afraid that my son would acquire viral infections or any other ailments just because the babies of my colleagues are sick. After giving so much thought on that, I will just find my son suffering the same condition. It may be just a coincidence but it's also possible that I have invited that negative energy to come to life. Realizing that, I resolved to dump all negative thoughts as quickly as possible. I am now more determined to think good thoughts. Thereby, I have opened myself to God's abundance.
Your mind is so powerful. That is why it is important that you choose the focus of your thoughts. You are naturally drawn to whatever you focus upon. Imagine yourself in a miserable state and in no time you will feel miserable. On the other hand, picture yourself as happy, successful and enjoying the beauty of life. Instantly, you will feel refreshed, hopeful and ready to face the challenges of life.
Since our mind is powerful, why not focus yourselves in creating positive thoughts rather than draining your energy into negatives. You may be bombarded now by problems and financial burdens, but thinking more about it will not do you any good. In fact, it may be even worse when your health suffers and succumb to anxiety. Headaches, hyperacidity and even nervous breakdowns are just some of the ailments that you may develop in putting so much stress into your lives.
Why not focus on the solutions instead. Acknowledge the problem but quickly shift your thoughts into the possible solutions. In case of marital conflict, for example, think of ways on how you can remedy the problem. Do you need to consult a marriage counselor, or just sit down and talk about it, or just set up a romantic date and rekindle the fire in your relationship? In case of financial concerns, you may start by letting go of the things that you can do without like dinner outs and fancy gadgets. Some issues may look deeper than what I have cited, but the point is that you have to use the power of your mind to your advantage.
Believe that you have the power to better your life. Think positive. Focus on your dreams. Have high hopes. Trust in God and make a fresh start.

Mine Is Not The Right Way, It Is Simply Another Way
By Sharon Fredrickson
Recently, the California Supreme Court ruled that denying same sex marriage was unconstitutional. As of June 16th , I believe, it will now be legal for same sex couples to marry and you can image that this decision caused a lot of stir. While some said that decision was fair and just, others said that it was a horrible choice made by the courts. As I went to look at the weather on our local newspaper website, the headlines announcing this decision was there, in big bold print, for all to see. In smaller print and a bit off to the side were article headlines about a young girl dying as well as other pretty yucky headlines. (I now know go to weather.com so as to avoid the news even more.) I'll admit I read the decision story and while it offered the typical news, I was more surprised and completely wrapped up in reading the comments that were left by readers. Because this decision caused such controversy, there were literally hundreds of comments posted by readers concerning this issue. Some were happy about the decision, while others literally felt as though it could end life as we know, it not just here in California, but in the United States. By the way, there were little if any comments left about the other stories.
Part of what makes this country great is the fact that we can say exactly what we feel. So, while the differing opinions didn't bother me in the least, the way those opinions were being expressed deeply saddened me. Obviously not all of them, but more than enough expressed feelings of hatred from both sides. Some people who said they were Christians were saying how much they hated gays and I even saw one post were the writer (again welding a shield of Christianity) said he was glad because now he would know where gay people lived and could "do something" about them. Some of the people that were in agreement with this decision were very ready to call Christians and other religious people closed minded haters. While some of these people were saying we all needed to be open minded, their next sentence expressed resentment and hatred towards Christians.
While I was saddened by what I was reading, I wasn't necessarily surprised. There is one thing that people will fight, kill and die for.... the ability to be right. "It's my way or the highway." How do they know they are right? Their God told them so. (Remember when I say God I am referring to the Creator. You may choose to refer to him/her in another way, but for this conversation I'm going to refer to the creator as God.) The problem with this thinking is that as I've just said, we all have the choice of how we define God. So which one gets to make the decisions? Some say it's the one's we learn about in the Holy book. O.K., which book? The Bible, the Koran, the Bhagavad-Gita, the Talmud, etc. Once again, I submit to you that we need to get away from saying what is right and wrong and simply ask what works and what doesn't work.
I feel comfortable in saying that if we polled many different people, we would all pretty much want the same thing, a safe and peaceful world. If that is in fact the intention of people, then we need to step back and ask if our thoughts, feelings and/or actions are working to achieve that goal. When we are spending so much time and energy trying to prove that others are wrong and doing it through hate, it just doesn't work. You can't force change. You can't scare people into change. You can't do peace, you have to be peaceful. You can do love, you have to be loving. It's time we all step back and look at each other as we were meant to, which is simply as an extension of our self. Most of all, it's time we enter this one little sentence into our daily lives. Mine is not the right way, it is simply another way.

The Power Of Your Mind
By Ali Mack
When we start talking about the power of the mind I think of the powerful saying "Your Thoughts Create Your Life" and wonder if this is really possible! In my previous post - " Does Your Personality Make You Disease Resistant" we talked about why some get chronic illnesses and why some don't seem to suffer at all, and is it all possible that it is through our own thoughts that this situation was created.
Let me give you an example from within my own life….. My brother-in-law was diagnosed as having cancer and was told at the very best he could expect to live was five years, worse case scenario would be two years. So rather than get depressed and morose over the situation his first reaction was to defy this prediction and set out to prove his physician wrong.
So instead of accepting this death sentence he began looking for alternative therapies to get him through this hurdle in life. As well as reading and finding out as much as he could about his condition, he started taking herbal supplements, eating organic foods, drinking green tea, and used humor to keep him positive as well as indulging in positive mind games. "Knowing What You Want and Getting in Harmony With It", in other words having a focus point and fixating on it and getting to the finish line. But the secret was he never had a finish line he always kept moving the line it as he got near it.
However during his treatment about two years after first being diagnosed he got really sick and we were told he was very close to death. At the time his daughter was on an overseas trip and it was decided we would bring her home (a 24 hour flight plus travel time so at the least it would be 36 hours) before she would be home. Through his pain he said that he would wait for his daughter to return, as he needed to see his little girl and apologize for shortening her trip. Although most of us did not believe he would make it through the night and believed that his daughter would be coming home for a funeral. However he did get to see his daughter and slowly got better and is still here with us to this day 10 years after being diagnosed and being told he would only do five! He later told us that on the morning that his daughter was to return he set his next goal and that was to see her get married.
So it's all about getting clarity in what you want and getting your mind and body in tune with it, and visualization is a major part of this mind process. The gurus tell you visualization is "simple", just find a quiet place, relax close your eyes and imagine what you want in as vivid detail as possible - what you would be seeing, hearing, and feeling when the goal is already accomplished. They say to just use your imagination and picture yourself in the future as if you already have achieved what it is that you want.
Now you may have tried that, but found that it really is not that "simple" but there is a way to visualize that no one is telling you about. It's been proven to work for thousands of successful business people, athletes, performers, and leaders. This method combines the power of hypnosis with visualization for an ultra-powerful combination. It helps you to program your mind to release everything that you don't want, and to pull towards you exactly what it is that do you want. Mind Power - Happiness With Positive Thinking Tips
By Joel Chue
Being a negative thinker is very unhealthy as it lowers your self-esteem and bad for your morale. It drains your energy rapidly and causes you to lose focus. To stop being a negative thinker, you have to change your thoughts pattern.
1. The first tip to being positive is to look after your body and mind. To ensure that you are in a good shape, eat well, exercise regularly, sleep well and spend time with your family. A relaxed and healthy body is a natural attractant for positive energy.
2. Reject and delete any negative thoughts that flashed through your mind. Researchers found out that an average person has about 60 000 thoughts being flashed through his mind on a single day. Why should anyone cling onto a negative thought? Make a conscious decision, and do your best to rid of any negative thoughts.
3. Hug your loved ones. By hugging, it increases your self-esteem. It makes you feel comfortable and loved. Move past a cold and sturdy handshake, and hug someone you really love and care for.
4. Make sure that you surround yourself with happy, cheerful people. Avoid friends who think poorly of themselves. This way your mind will always pick up positive vibes.
5. On a piece of paper, write down all the things that you are happy and grateful for. They can be your friends, your colleagues and your family. After you are done with the writing, paste the list somewhere it is conspicuous so that you can see it everyday. This will remind you of all the things you are grateful for and not take the things you have now for granted. Most importantly, it keeps you happy too.
6. Get out of the habit of fixing labels to people and situations. Don't say "I always knew it" "I always said so" "She never cared for me" "You have always used me" , etc. Such negative thoughts put you on a negative footing. They also lower your self-esteem.
7. Do not ever be afraid to speak up. You will never gain confidence if you do. You do not need to bother what others might view you as if you speak up as you are living your own life, not others. Opportunities may slip away if you remain silent.
8. Don't think of the negative stuff when something happened. When your boss asks for you, don't think of him reprimanding you or giving you a sack. Life is unpredictable; he may want to give you a raise in salary for your excellent performance.
9. Extend a helping hand to those in need. You can read a story to your neighbor's mother who is crippled and can't move; or you may go out and trim the garden of an orphanage on a weekend you are free. You will find that these small gestures have a wonderful way of generating positive energy. They make you feel warm, energetic and wanted.
10. There may be times when you find it impossible to get rid of negative thoughts. In such situations you should go out of your house for a walk or a jog. You can even go to the gym and do some light exercises. Such activity takes your mind off the negative thoughts.
If you follow these steps, you will find that your mind starts rejecting negative thoughts on its own.
