Dealing With Negative Thoughts

By Brian E. Zimmerman

Do you realize that as a human being, we have over a thousand thoughts that go through our minds a day, which are either negative or positive? The question I ask YOU is how do you deal with these thoughts that run through your mind all day?

You know, I've really been studying the mind and body over the past couple years because I really feel that in order to achieve the goals and desires that we have in life is determined by the thought process we have going through our mind. I feel the more self aware you are of these thoughts; the better your chances are of achieving your goals.

Now, what I've noticed over the past several months, that, I think, is extremely interesting and cool is that the more self aware that you and I become with ourselves, the more we tend to notice negative and positive things. Now, what I'm about to tell you is in no way intended to suggest that I'm better than anybody; but, I feel that with all my studies, I am more self aware internally and of others to a very large degree. When I tell people this, they think I'm crazy; but there is no possible way they understand what I am speaking about, for many different reasons.

The way I know this is because if somebody was really in tune with their own being, they would notice the environment going on around them a lot more. For example, any time I'm around negative people or situations, I can feel it in my body and mind, generally minutes before I'm actually around it. Am I saying I have physic ability? NO. What I am saying is that there is energy you feel the more aware you become.

When I am around family, friends, and other people, I can really feel and call the situations before they even come around. By having this feeling, it actually allows you or me to either KILL the situation with kindness or remove ourselves from it.

Just so you understand: negative thoughts and situations are normal and will always be present. I'm not saying that it's bad to have negative thoughts or that people are bad for having these thoughts. Once you and I learn and realize such patterns of negative thoughts and situations, we then can start to understand the learning process of these patterns that will lead to true success. I know it sounds strange, but it's true. It means you are self aware enough to notice and that's a good thing.

So, you're probably saying to yourself now, well Brian that sounds great. How do I take this information and become better? GREAT QUESTION FRIEND.

Here's more to the answer - The more self aware you become, the easier it will be to deal with your own negative thoughts. Why? Because your heightened awareness will assist you on catching yourself when you experience your own negative thoughts, so you can stop yourself and redirect yourself to focus on what you do instead of what you don't want.

You see, negative thoughts, to me, are reminders of what I should be focusing on or what I want. It's like my very own little navigation system that tells my body to either move towards something or move away from something. When I feel this little internal guidance system working in my body, or I feel negative, I attempt to catch myself and not get mad; it's just a reminder that I require to create change in my life.

WARING: Our natural instincts are to struggle and try to push that inner guidance away. We'll don't resist it because it's a great tool to keep you on track.
